Frequenhtly asked questions

  1. Do you accept my insurance plan?
We accept most dental insurances. However, you may want to call ahead of time to confirm that your insurance is on our list

  2. What different payment options do you provide?
Payment is due at time of service, however we are aware that sometimes the cost of dental work can be an issue. For those patients looking for low monthly payment planes, we offer CARE CREDIT. We partner with them to help patients maintain there oral health in an affordable way. They have several different plans to choose from, including some with NO INTREST. Check out our link to their website for more information.

  3. My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?
If you touched your hand and it bled, would you be concerned? It’s comparable to your gums. Bleeding gums are a sign of gum disease- a serious condition that has been linked with systemic problems such as heart disease and stroke

  4. What is Free Teeth Whitening for life?
We offer Free teeth whitening for life to all of our patients, however certain insurance plans do not qualify to receive it. The first step is coming in to have your comprehensive exam and cleaning done. If there is no dental work diagnosed then we take impressions of your mouth and make custom fit trays. However, if there is treatment diagnosed, that must be done first and then the trays are made. (If treatment were done after the trays they would no longer fit and the patient can experience extreme sensitivity if there are any cavities) To keep the free teeth whitening for life valid, simply make your cleaning visits every 5-7 months and have any treatment finished that is diagnosed, and Sachs Family Dental will continue to refill the prescription strength whitening gel at the last visit.

  5. What is the difference between ZOOM and Trays?
ZOOM is an in office procedure, that is done in about 2-3 hours. It whitens your teeth in a much shorter amount of time. The trays also whiten your teeth, however it takes about 2 weeks to achieve the same whiteness

  6. Do you see children?
We love children!! The assistants are well qualified to deal with anxious or first time visits. However, if for some reason the child is overly anxious and unable to sit still we have wonderful pediatric dentists we will refer to. We strive to make sure every dental experience is a great one for your child.

  7. How long has Dr.Sachs been practicing?
Dr. Sachs graduated from dental school in 1999, and has been practicing dentistry in Utah for the last 8 years.

    No

  9. Can I chew on these fillings?
With the tooth colored fillings they are as hard as they will get so it is safe to chew on them as soon as the appointment is over, however you will want to be careful because the rest of your mouth is numb and it is hard to tell what you are really biting on.

  10. How long before I can eat on the temporary crown?
Temporary crowns are there to hold the space for the permanent crown. They do not hold up well to hard, sticky foods. We recommend that you try as much as possible to use the other side of your mouth while the temporary crown is in, and if for some reason the temporary crown comes off it is extremely important to have it re-cemented as soon as possible

  11. How long will the numbing last?
The numbing can last anywhere from 3 to 4 hours. You can speed up the process by getting your adrenaline going; running, sports, or any vigorous exercise should help to reduce the amount of time the numbness lasts.
